Campaigns

Current local campaigns that Stuart is involved with:

Resign Helen Grant MP: I am calling for Helen Grant, MP for Maidstone and the Weald to resign for breaking the spirit of the expenses rules. She is claiming the maximum amount for a posh London flat while her home is just 19 miles from Westminster. She has also treated her staff badly and her constituency surgeries are to become adhoc with the closure of her constituency office.

20mph Maidstone: You've seen the adverts, there are far fewer serious accidents when cars travel at 20mph through residential roads. Why would anyone want cars to go faster past their own house?

Oaken Wood: 74 acres of ancient woodland to be dug up for aggregate for roads and building. I have been one of the vocal opponents to the plan.

Anti-Fracking: Exploration for shale gas has been allowed in East Kent. I have been very vocal in opposing it, appearing on the BBC Politics Show debating with the Tory MP for the area, Charlie Elphic.

Stopping the live animal exports: I have visited Ramsgate and met with protestors to support them in trying to stop this disgusting practice. I have also written to Thanet Council asking them to raise the port fees.
