Harbouring criminals

Maidstone has hit the nation headlines with the news that Labour Peer, Baroness Uddin, doesn't live here. She has been claiming a second home allowance for her second home in Wapping while claiming that her home in Maidstone is her main residence, according to the Torygraph.

While more and more parliamentarians are found with snouts in troughs, we can vote out the MPs but we can't get rid of peers.

It is time to not just reform the expenses system (give them student style digs to use if they need them) but also to scrap the Lords in favour of a wholy elected house (obviously by proportional representation).

Labour, you had so much opportunity but you have wasted it.

Mark Thomas has a particularly good site on the lords: comparethemarquis.com
