Water & Gaza

I was chatting with a friend from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign yesterday and thinking that news about Gaza had gone very quite in recently when this article appeared on Comment is Free. I was aware of the water problems that Gaza had but this crisis is horrendous. Amensty released a useful report in October, they have found that 90% of water from Gaza'a only aquifer is contaminated and unfit for consumption.

The blockade of Gaza is slowly killing people there. It is senseless blockade must be lifted and Israel must allow people in Gaza basic human rights. I can't find reports about just how many children and adults have died as a direct result of the blockade, but this type of water contamination will quickly kill more than the 1400 murdered by Israel bombardment in January.
