Police should back off at Ramsgate

Well done to Cllr Ian Driver for protesting outside Kent Police against their treatment of the the demonstrators at Ramsgate Docks when the live exports happen.

This is from the Kent News:

Campaigners staged a protest outside Kent Police headquarters in Maidstone this weekend.
And they handed in a letter to the newly elected Police & Crime Commissioner.
They say police treat them “heavy handed” as they voice their opposition against the live animal export trade at the port.
Despite it recently being suspended, animals are once again now being shipped out of the port.
Ian Driver, independent councillor at Thanet District Council and opponent of the exports said: “People can be quite emotional but it never gets out of hand.
“Yet the police are using the section 14 order to pen the protesters into a particular place.
“We’re hoping Ann Barnes will call in the chief constable to talk to him about this.”
