Maidstone Shelter volunteering

I've done a couple of nights as a volunteer at the Maidstone Shelter which is providing a meal and a bed for homeless people during winter months and I am thoroughly impressed by the guests, volunteers and the organisers.

Despite Maidstone's rapidly rising homelessness problem, until this shelter was set up there was no where for these street sleepers to go even in winter. Sadly the shelter closes in a week or so as it is being run by volunteers as a pilot - I hope the guests will be ok.

Daz is one of the guests and is well known around the town. Last year he agreed to model for a photo on our newsletter and it was good to catch up with him.
