Frightening February 1.55 degrees hotter than 1880

Truly frightening news broke yesterday, something that affects all 7 billion of us and all future generations yet I didn't hear it mentioned on the mainstream news once. According to NASA February was 1.35 degrees hotter that a baseline set in 1980 which in turn is 0.2 degrees above the 1880 baseline - i.e. February was 1.55 degrees hotter globally than 1880.

The Paris climate agreement stated a goal to keep global temperatures less than 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels.

Of course the strong effect of El Nino will account for some of this but the impact is still scary and records are being smashed every month. The arctic is taking the brunt of the warming.

If ever there was a time to take individual and collective action to halt climate change it is now.
