Shan Oakes is to stand against David Davis in the Haltemprice and Howden by-election! It looks like Shan will be the only real opposition to Davis with Labour and LibDems not standing.The Greens are not, of course, in favour of the 42 day rule. We are standing because of Davis's hypocritical record on civil liberties. Davis has confused civil liberties with neo-liberalism, civil freedoms with market freedoms.
The Greens are the only true party of civil liberties and now have the chance to show Davis and other conservatives the true meaning of the term.
