The campaign to save the London Plane tree outside Maidstone Town Hall moved forward this week with Ainsley Francis presenting the petition to the full council. In the audience were Anthony Hill and Tom West. Anthony has been leading this campaign but was not allowed to present the petition as he is 15, despite having hundreds of signatures on it.
The rules really are rubbish at times. Why does beign 15 give you less value and voice in society than being 18? There are plenty of 15 year olds with a far more valuable and rational contribution to make than people much older.

I wonder if it has something to do with voting age, presenting the petition.
But by that logic, if you're not old enough to vote, you're not old enough to sign a petition and that's clearly not the case. It does seem ridiculous.
The Liberal Democrats intend to lower the voting age to 16, and probably won't get it done in this government. Do you think it should be lower?
