Putting animal welfare at the heart of the European Elections, 2014

Some people portray a false distinction between humans and Nature, yet it is abundantly clear to me that we are an integral part of the natural world and that the natural world has rights too.

I was therefore pleased to sign the pledge from the RSPCA: I pledge to support the introduction of a new law, designed to promote and safeguard the highest possible standards of animal welfare, if elected to the eighth European Parliament for 2014-2019.

I have always fought for the rights of other animals, just as I have for the rights of humans. I will continue to do so.
