World Aids Day - end the blood doning ban

Peter Tatchell in the Guardian today: "Any man who has had sex with a man, even once, even 50 years ago, and even if they test HIV-negative, cannot give blood"

The NHS is constantly crying out for more blood donors, yet this archaic, and now shown to be ridiculous, ban on giving blood by men if they even just once had sex with another man needs to be lifted.

When the ban was introduced there was little knowledge about HIV compared with the present day, and the ban now simply serves as another form of discrimination and stigma.
